How to Be Involved

To express your interest in any activity, contact info@communitymosaicproject.com or pamgoode@earthlink.net

Volunteers are needed in numerous areas. We're looking for mosaic artists, visual artists, art lovers, ceramic artists, clay and play participants, school and community outreach partners, financial and in-kind contributors, the experienced, and the newly interested.

Following are a few of the ways to be involved. Please feel free to suggest others that might appeal to you.

Mosaic Artists are needed to help complete sections and backgrounds, assist at workshops and outreach sessions, install, and grout. We are, of course, happy to train anyone who would like to become a mosaic artist!

Visual Artists can learn the mosaic process at our workshops, and are also needed to donate 4"x6" works of art for our Enormous tiny Art show opening December 7, 2007. For more information, click here.

Ceramic Artists can help with tile creation, both shaped and sculpted, from sculpture clay, assist at tile-making outreach sessions, or help fire tiles.

Clay and Play Participants are invited to attend any of our sessions noted under Upcoming Events to create and glaze unique tiles to be included in the mosaic. No experience necessary and all ages are welcome. There is no fee.

School and Community Outreach Partners: If your group would like to have our volunteers work with you to create tiles or portions of the mosaic border, please contact us.

Financial Contributors are enthusiastically appreciated; any amount is welcome. Our freeze/thaw resistant materials are expensive, and the project is being run 100% on volunteer labor. 100% of your contribution will go toward materials. Contributions may be mailed.

In Kind Contributions are welcome: We Need: Safety Goggles, Dust-Rated Face Masks, Gardening Gloves in Adult and Child Sizes, Rolls of Fiberglass Mesh, Tack Hammers, Hard-Bodied Sculpture Clay, Old But Serviceable Artist's Paint Brushes, Copy Paper, Colored Card Stock, Printing, Publicity, Workspace, and Scaffolding.
